The chalk pastels I work with are of a high quality to prevent fading and discoloring with age, therefore ensuring the longevity of your purchase.
I use genuine pastel paper for all my chalk pastel artwork for sale. There is a wide variety of paper colors to choose from and the texture of the paper also provides a nice tonal quality to the finished artwork. It is always interesting choosing a paper color to best match my art subject.
When Buying Chalk Pastel Artwork for Sale Please Bear in Mind the Following:
Shipping: Chalk Pastel Artwork for Sale
The drawings will be rolled into a tube for shipping or else flat packed. Shipping will be via a courier service that provides tracking details.
Depending on your destination – delivery will take between 4 and 14 days.
Opening of Artwork on Delivery
When receiving your drawing be careful when opening and removing it from the tube. Chalk pastel is very prone to smudging – which you certainly don’t want to do!! The best advice is to let your framer open the package.
I do spray the finished artwork with a professional fixative to protect the drawing.
The drawing will require to be flattened after being in the tube – be mindful not to bend or crease the paper as these are very difficult marks to remove.
Care of Chalk Pastel Art
A soft pastel drawing needs to be framed behind glass with mounts. This protects the drawing from dust and insect marks. The mounts lift the glass of the artwork so that the chalk does not touch the glass. This gives longevity to the artwork.
It is also advisable to place your drawing where there will be no direct sunlight. This prevents fading and sun damage to the paper – this is especially true of colored paper as it may fade at different rates depending on where the sun is shining on it. You do not want to end up with uneven shades of paper color.
